WHO: LeaderBrand Produce Ltd

WHAT: Producers of horticulture and agriculture produce.

WHERE: Headquarters is Gisborne, where LeaderBrand has 2500 hectares in production, there is also some product grown in Tolaga Bay, with a farming operation in Ashburton. The domestic sales and marketing team is based in Auckland.

STAFF: 240 full time and 250 seasonal.

PRODUCTION: About 35 percent of their product is exported. The company grows tomatoes, sweetcorn, squash, broccoli, lettuce, salad, grapes, and apples, among others.

FAMOUS FOR: LeaderBrand is one of New Zealand's largest diversified horticultural production and marketing businesses. It pioneered the field packing of lettuce and is known for its high quality ice broccoli.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE ONE OF THE TEAM: LeaderBrand looks for team players with a strong affinity to the land. Their roles range from field workers through to senior managers.
